History
| Valinor Park Arabians was founded in Oct 1979, with the purchase of the purebred Arabian stallion, Oasis Desert Song. The stud's motto, `Beauty that Endures" came to epitomise the style and type of Arabians bred, with horses from Valinor Park winning at the highest level of halter and saddle performance, but also excelling in the endurance field. |

Quilty winner-Lightweight 1982-1983
|
Oasis Desert Song proved to be an outstanding foundation stallion forthe young stud. Not only was he one of Australia's most successful endurance stallions, but he proved to be pre-potent in passing these characteristics onto his progeny.
Desert's career in endurance earned him 3 Quilty buckles, including 3rd in 1982, the first stallion in 16 years to place in the Top 5, and an 8th in 1983. |
| However it was in The Shazhada Memorial 400kms ride that really proved his excellence. In 1981 Desert placed 4th in a time of 35hrs 5mins, whilst in 1983 he placed 2nd in the outstanding time of 27hrs 18mins. The last 100 miles were completed in a time of 9hrs 40mins, in heat, over exceedingly rough terrain. This feat was accomplished after having already travelled 150 miles, and he was only beaten by 2 mins. Faster times than those of Shazhada, for whom the ride was named. |
The worth of any stallion however, is characterised by his progeny. The original broodmares in the stud were bought because of their beauty and performance lines. A number were daughters of International Supreme Halter Champion, Ralvon Pilgrim, whilst their dam lines traced back to already proven endurance bloodlines. In fact the progeny from Desert and his mares carry no less than 6 Quilty buckles in their pedigrees from the time when the sport was in its infancy in Australia. |

Progeny sired by Oasis Desert Song have themselves gone on to achieve outstanding success both in endurance, halter and under saddle.
To date the stud has produced 28 proven endurance horses, 16 of whom have won rides, placed Top 5 or taken out Best Conditioned horse awards. V P Armistice was chosen to represent Australia at the World Equestrian Games in 1998, and was later sold to overseas interests in the UK, where he won rides both in the UK & Europe. |
Valinor Park Legend |
The stud has also produced National Stud Show winners at halter and under saddle, as well as East Coast Champions, both at halter and under saddle. and an Australian Champion Dressage horse.
Given that for many years Valinor Park only bred a limited number of mares, these successes become even more impressive, giving Valinor Park status at being one of the very few studs that has consistently produced `AAA' halter horses as well as outstanding endurance horses.
The introduction of new bloodlines into the stud following Oasis Desert Song's death is designed to enable the stud to capitalise on its past achievements. |
| Saracin (imp), a British Reserve National Champion prior to his export, was bred by Halsdon Arabians, in the UK. He is predominantly Polish, with a mixture of Russian and Egyptian bloodlines. |
Saracin (imp) is of the Seglawi strain, long admired for their beauty and refinement.
Already it is apparent that that his bloodlines have nicked particularly well with the current broodmares, and their get are now beginning to successfully compete in endurance and in the show ring, achieving championship status both at Halter and under saddle, together with East Coast Championships.
Barabas (imp), a straight Russian stallion, whose progeny have been outstanding in the show ring, as well as already having a number exported to the UAE, has been bought by Valinor Park. His progeny for Valinor Park are exceptional, and have been eagerly sought after by overseas interests.
